The Certificate in Health Professions Education (CHPE) at Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry (LCMD) is designed to enhance the teaching, assessment, and curriculum development skills of faculty members and educators in health professions education. This program equips participants with evidence-based pedagogical approaches and enables them to effectively teach, assess, and mentor students in medical and dental education.
The CHPE program at LCMD follows a structured, competency-based framework that covers the three essential domains of learning:
• Cognitive (Knowledge) – Understanding and applying educational principles in teaching and assessment.
• Psychomotor (Skills) – Developing competence in teaching clinical and procedural skills.
• Affective (Attitudes & Professionalism) – Enhancing communication, ethical reasoning, and professionalism in medical education.
This comprehensive, interactive program includes face-to-face workshops, hands-on training, small group discussions, and practical teaching exercises, ensuring that participants can apply their learning directly to their professional practice. Each module is designed to promote reflective practice and improve educational leadership among health professionals.
The CHPE at LCMD is tailored to meet the unique challenges of medical and dental education, fostering a learner-centered environment that prioritizes quality teaching, meaningful assessment, and faculty development. By the end of the program, participants will be equipped with the necessary skills to design curriculum, implement modern teaching strategies, and assess student performance effectively.
